GIDIC Welcomes the Center for Global Health Innovation

The Center for Global Health Innovation (CGHI) has joined the Global Infectious Disease Intelligence Consortium (GIDIC).

As an Atlanta based non-governmental 501(c)(3) non-profit, CGHI works with over 400 organizations across health, technology, life sciences, academia, and multinational corporations to find solutions for  the world’s greatest public health challenges, including health equity disparities that are created by emerging and reemerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and monkeypox.

Dr. Stephanie Adams, Managing Director of CGHI’s Global Health & Crisis Coordination program, understands that modeled infectious disease forecasts can be used to effectively communicate with community leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders who work with at-risk populations in the United States and elsewhere.

“One of the challenges that we have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic is helping people understand why it is important to be vaccinated,” she said.  “Using a model that shows how COVID-19, the flu, RSV, or any other infectious disease spreads will help us successfully connect with others when we’re talking about personal behaviors that can keep them safe.”

Dr. John Drake, GIDIC Director, is excited about collaborating with Stephane and her other colleagues.  “The Center for Global Health Innovation has a tremendous impact in the communities where they work,” he said.  “My GIDIC colleagues and very interested in their outreach and we look forward to helping them through our research and models.”
